Hoe Shuen has dedicated his practice to guiding clients through the complexities of civil and commercial disputes. As litigation counsel, his experience spans a broad spectrum of matters, including contractual disputes, shareholder litigation, probate and estate disputes, and debt recovery.

He is committed to developing legal strategies that are both commercially pragmatic and strategically sound. This includes exploring all avenues for resolution from negotiation and mediation to courtroom advocacy, in order to achieve the most efficient and effective outcomes.

Shareholder & Minority Rights Disputes

Successfully obtaining an injunction before the High Court on behalf of a minority shareholder to prevent the dilution of his shares

Assisted in a successful appeal in a matrimonial dispute before the Court of Appeal which also resulted in the Court of Appeal determining a point of law for the first time

Assisted in defending an individual against claims involving conversion and dishonest assistance over the ownership of a vessel

Assisted in defending a businessman in simultaneous bankruptcy proceedings and a SIAC arbitration involving multi-million-dollar claims

Assisted in successfully defending a foreign national against a claim by the employer on issues arising from confidentiality and non-solicitation obligations governed by Malaysian law

Assisted in successfully representing the minority shareholder in a minority oppression claim which secured a buy-out of his shares

Assisted in defending a company in multiple proceedings before the Singapore International Commercial Court, which successfully led to an early withdrawal of the proceedings
