  • Acted for an MNC regarding an ex-employee who allegedly committed corporate espionage by downloading sensitive documents from the said Company’s cloud drive. Parties eventually negotiated a private settlement.
  • Acted for an MNC regarding an ex-employee who had joined a direct competitor in breach of the ex-employee’s non-compete clause in his earlier contract. Parties eventually negotiated a private settlement.

NOTABLE CASES & REPORTED JUDGEMENTS

 

  • 3 Corporate Services v Grabtaxi Holdings Pte Ltd [2020] SGHC 17
    Defended Grab in the High Court of Singapore against a claim regarding an alleged breach of contract for the purchase of an Indonesian domain name. This is a novel case that led to the Honourable Court dismissing the claim and including in obiter that cybersquatting is held to be objectionable as a matter of public policy.

  • Grabtaxi Holdings Pte. Ltd. v Clay Branding Pte. Ltd. (Case No. SDRP 02 of 2020)
    Acted for Grab to successfully force a transfer of a Singaporean Domain Name (grab.com.sg) from Clay Branding Pte Ltd to Grab on the basis that Clay Branding was cybersquatting on the Singaporean Domain Name.

  • Abhilash s/o Kunchian Krishnan v Yeo Hock Huat and anor [2018] SGHC 107 and instructed Mr Davinder Singh SC and his team in the appeal, Abhilash s/o Kunchian Krishnan v Yeo Hock Huat and anor [2019] SGCA 14. Acted for a minority shareholder in a High Court action against a local businessman regarding oppression of minority shareholders and the valuation of shares. Subsequently, Sean was part of the team that instructed Mr Davinder Singh SC and his team for the appeal of the same.

  • Lakshmi Anil Salgaocar v Jhaveri Darsan Jitendra and another [2019] 4 SLR 1023 Assisted Lead Counsel in a matter involving an anti-suit injunction and a dispute on natural forum.
